CARBON TRADING
Carbon trading derives from the instigation of a carbon marketplace where auditable carbon exemption certificates are issued by the Government and can be treated as a tangible commodity.
The development of carbon credits has resulted from the ‘cap and trade’ system used in the EU Emissions Trading Scheme. When an organisation has reported a reduction in emissions compared to their allowance, these credits can be banked for future use or sold into the marketplace.
